Mønstring 2024. Place. Connection. Movement.

Time of event to
Stad Sogn og Fjordane Kunstmuseum

Friday, November 1 2024, at 6:00 PM, the Artists' Center in Sogn og Fjordane is pleased to open the exhibition Mønstring 2024: Place, Connection, Movement at the Sogn og Fjordane Art Museum.

Mønstring is a member exhibition featuring crafts and visual art created by organized artists connected to Sogn og Fjordane. The exhibition has become a tradition over time and is presented every three years at the Sogn og Fjordane Art Museum in Førde. Members of The Visual Artists in Sogn og Fjordane and Norwegian Crafts Association West Norway, Sogn og Fjordane division, are eligible to participate.

With this edition of Mønstring, we in Sogn og Fjordane can celebrate the fact that we now have a new gathering place, and eventually a dedicated exhibition venue, the Artists' Center in Sogn og Fjordane. The center is one of 15 regional art centers in Norway and was re-established in 2022 after being housed by SFKM (Sogn og Fjordane Art Museum) for the past twenty years. The center operates a gallery for the sale of visual art and crafts and is developing into a resource hub for artists, private individuals, businesses, and public institutions in the region.

We hope that this year's Mønstring will create space for diverse voices and encounters, and that the exhibition provides a picture of what is stirring among artists connected to the region—whether they live in remote areas, in towns within the region, or in larger cities elsewhere in the country or the world.

We also ask ourselves: Who are the members of the Artists' Center in Sogn og Fjordane today? Do they live in Sogn og Fjordane, or do they have another connection to the region? Where do they reside, and does this place hold significance for their artistic practice?

Mønstring 2024: Place, Connection, Movement is a sales exhibition where the public has the opportunity to both experience and purchase contemporary art of high artistic quality.

The participating artists are:

Anita Eide, Anne Lise Stenseth, Anne-Gry Løland, Arild Bergstrøm, Astrid Wittersø, Aud Hanna Indrebø, Aud Marit Skarrebo Holmen, Aud Sissel Hestenes, Audgunn Naustdal Holsen, Bjørn Venø, Britt Smelvær, Dina Norheim, Gerd Endestad, Hjalmar Lothe, Inghild Sleire, Janne Nes, Jens Hauge, Jone Skjensvold, Jorunn Mulen, Karen Helga Maurstig, Karina Siegmund, Kristina Austi, Marina Venendaal, Marit Gunhild Arnekleiv, Marius Moldvær, Reidun Rose Vinda, Sigrid Bjørkedal, Sol Hallset, Solveig Haukaas, Turid Haye, Aase Skrivervik, Magne Vangsnes.
