Step into the nature of Western Norway
This exhibition invites you into a vast and atmospheric painting of Western Norwegian nature. Resonance is a brand-new artwork created specifically for this exhibition. The painting measures 11 meters in length and 2 meters in height, and the artist behind the piece is Linda Soh Trengereid.
The motif depicts a forest landscape where human-like beings appear to be woven together with the trees, roots, and nature — as if they belong there. Trengereid creates landscapes where the beautiful and the unsettling meet, and where the familiar and the unfamiliar blend into each other.
The work draws inspiration from old panoramic paintings and the national romantic tradition, but also from the artist’s personal story as an adoptee from South Korea. Resonance is about belonging, identity, and our relationship with nature — particularly the wild and beautiful landscapes of Western Norway.
