Welcome to the exhibition opening!
This evening, we celebrate Frida Rusti – an artist with a keen eye for people and their surroundings. Rusti (1861–1963) was, in her time, a prominent artist whose life spanned from German art circles to the cultural life of Western Norway. In the exhibition “Frida Rusti: I Paint in Dreams,” visitors are presented with fragments of an exceptionally long artistic career that depicted people and everyday motifs with an unusual combination of precision, warmth, and perseverance. The exhibition highlights both her artistic practice and her position as a female and foreign-born artist within a Norwegian art tradition where such voices have often been overlooked.
After the opening, the evening continues with a DJ, dancing, and a great atmosphere in the museum. Come for the art – stay for the party!
