The beautiful home of Engel and Nikolai Astrup is idyllically situated by Jølstravatnet. We offer a unique selection of the artistic couple’s works. You can enjoy a snack while strolling through the lush motifs from the paintings.


The Astruptunet artists’ home is situated on Jølstravatnet’s southern shore.

The museum is closed for the season, but it is possible to book a tour of the houses and gardens. Astruptunet is closed from 27. September to 04. October.

It is not possible to enter Astruptunet, due to security risks in connection with digging at Kjøkenstova and the re-establishment of Engel's place.

There is some work being done on the houses and in the garden. The accessebility is therefore not always optimal. Our opening hours are valid and we will assist you where needed.

Season Pass grants free admission for 1 year from date of purchase. The Season Pass does not provide free entry to special events or free publications.

There is free parking by the lake, a stone's throw away from the entrance.


Homemade cakes and waffles with coffee. During the summer we also have ice cream.

We have a selection of tote bags, t-shirts, postcards and Nikolai Astrup art posters. We also have books on Nikolai Astrup and other artists.
