Getting here
By public transport:
Right next to the museum is the bus stop “Sogn Folkemuseum”. All scheduled buses stop here upon request. Find your route with the travel planners from EnTur or Skyss.

On foot:
From Vesterland Holiday Park
The walking distance is 0.5 km if you follow the old road behind the cabins to the gate at the back of the museum. Follow the path through the open-air museum to the main building, where you can buy your ticket.
From Kjørnes Camping
The walking distance is 4.2 km. Follow the road towards Vikane to the end, then continue along the path (the old road) up to Sogndal Fjord Panorama (Lem). After that, follow the main road along the outside of the guardrail where possible. Turn off towards Eidsgrenda. After about 0.5 km, take the path on the left. Enter through the gate at the back of the museum and follow the path through the open-air museum to the main building, where you can buy your ticket.
From Sogndal Fjord Panorama
The walking distance is 1.3 km. Follow the main road along the outside of the guardrail where possible. Turn off towards Eidsgrenda. After about 0.5 km, take the path on the left. Enter through the gate at the back of the museum and follow the path through the open-air museum to the main building, where you can buy your ticket.

The museum offers free parking, accessible directly off the main road.
As this is a private parking lot, camping is not permitted.

Café Heiberg
Our museum café, Kafé Heiberg, offers a simple selection of freshly made traditional pancakes, coffee and other tasty snacks.
Sogn Museum of Cultural History has one of the most striking outdoor cafés in Sogndal, with a great view of the area. The café follows the museum’s opening hours, but does not require a ticket.
Gift shop
The gift shop offers a wonderful collection of books, magazines, gift items and traditional toys, as well as wooden, textile and metal craftsmanship produced on-site. The shop follows museum opening hours, but does not require a ticket.
