Jekts – How the jekt became a lifeline – Guided tour

Stad Nordfjord Museum of Cultural History

Through a tour around the last preserved west-coast jekt, Holvikejekta, you will learn about the history of jekts in Norway, and why they became so important for the rural communities along the Norwegian coastline.

Holvikejekta is located one kilometre outside Sandane, along Gloppefjorden’s northern shore. Parking is available.

This tour is only available when booked in advance. Please contact our museum educator Karoline Stubberud Eide for bookings or other queries.
