Experience a bustling day at the old trading post!
This year as well we will be holding a marketday at Vågsberget, near Måløy. At this event you can experience several exciting stalls and lively activities, music, and meet farm animals who'll come visit us. We'll also hold guided tours of the houses. In the café we'll serve traditional rømmegraut and other baked goods.
Vågsberget is an old trading post that got special trading privileges in the 17th century, but it's also possible for there to have been some form of trade here before that as well. This was, after all, a large farm placed strategically by the sea! Towards the end of the 19th century the trading post fared poorly, and by the turn of the century there was no more trading activity at Vågsberget. Since 2024 we've held a marketday at Vågsberget to honor the traditions of the old trading post!
