About Sunnfjord museum
Sunnfjord Museum is an open-air folk museum presenting the cultural history and intangible cultural heritage of the inland Sunnfjord region. The museum is laid out to present a traditional homestead farm called a klyngetun. There are a total of 33 historic buildings on the museum grounds which display building and dwelling customs from the 1500s to the 1900s. Sunnfjord Museum is open year-round, with activity days, courses, concerts, exhibits, and seasonal celebrations. We also host natural history hiking trails, rotating exhibits in our visitor center, and we preserve a cultural landscape through active agricultural work. We are a part of the consortium Museums of Sogn og Fjordane, which is made up of 13 museums presenting cultural history and art in the historical region of Sogn og Fjordane.
