Sunnfjord Museum invites you to our final activity day of the summer season, where you can get to know one of our most important raw materials: wool!
Museum educator Nina will be in the Huus Cabin (follow signs) demonstrating how to card and spin wool. Here you can also try needfelting, a technique used to make things with carded wool. Create a figurine to take home with you!
At 1pm and 3pm you can join a tour with museum host Knut Arild around the museum grounds. Learn about the museum and enter some of the historic buildings, which present everyday life in Sunnfjord in the 1800s.
There will be a variety of other activities available as well.
You can:
Mill grain by hand in the Cookhouse. You will also find coloring pages and other self-directed activities in the Cookhouse.
Try outdoor games like ring toss and stilts.
Peak into the Millhouse and Storehouse.
Visit Movika Country Store and Shoemaker's Workshop.
Try to carry water with a yoke.
Make toy boats at the water's edge (work station by the carriage house). Check out a box of materials at the reception desk.
Welcome!
