Join us for a day of fun outdoor and indoor activities to open the summer season!
12:30pm Guided tour of Fiddlers and Funny Ladies: Entertainment in Norwegian America, with exhibit curator Sallie Anna Pisera. The tour will be presented principally in Norwegian, but there will be opportunities of questions in English. The exhibit texts are presented in both Norwegian and English.
2:00pm Name the museum goats!
Every summer, Sunnfjord Museum welcomes a new flock of baby goats. Names will be chosen from among submissions. Afterwards, both children and adults will have the opportunity to come into the goat pen and get to know this summer's flock.
3:00pm Museum tour for the whole family. Join in a guided tour of the museum farm and learn about how people lived in Sunnfjord villages of the 1800s. The tour will be principally in Norwegian, but there will be opportunities for questions in English.
1:00-4:00pm Visit the stabbur, a traditional storage house, where the museum's conservator, Kristine, is working with artifacts and preparing a new exhibit. She will present her work and answer questions.
All day:
* Outdoor games - try stilts or play a ring-toss game!
* Relax in the Huus cabin with boardgames and drawing. You are also welcome to bring your own food to enjoy in the Huus cabin.
* Grind grain with a millstone in the eldhus, a traditional cookhouse.

Sunnfjord Museum organizes Family Fun Day throughout the summer. On these days, we present activities for people of all ages. Join us for a fun-filled days featuring a variety of traditional handcraft activities and interactive experiences.

Purchase of a ticket is required to enter the museum's outdoor area during open hours, regardless of whether or not you participate in planned activities or take a guided tour. You can purchase a ticket in the reception area or online.
Do you visit Sunnfjord Museum frequently? Purchase an annual pass, which provides 12 months of access to all 13 museums and historic sites in the Museums of Sogn og Fjordane network. For travelers, we also offer a Museum Pass, which provides one visit per site within a two-month period.
